Two activists and members of the group, Sea Shepherd, were released by the Japanese Whaling Ship Yushin Maru two days after being taken captive after boarding the ship to deliver a letter to the ships Captain denouncing the vessels whaling activities. Sea Shepherds and unaffiliated Greenpeace crews have been tailing a number of Japanese whaling ships over the last couple of weeks in an attempt to stop what most consider to be illegal whaling sanctioned by Japan.
