Jena 6 teenager Mychal Bell shot himself in the chest yesterday after being freed on bail for shoplifting on Christmas Eve. The injury is not life threatening. The police speculated that Bell shot himself because he was upset about the media attention his arrest was getting and did not want to deal with the media again.
