Jena 6: Today!

Today is the day for protest in Jena. Some reports say up to 10,000 people are expected in the town of about 3,000. There are many solidarity protests happening in college campuses and cities across the country. At least one major benefit concert is also planned. Big names like David Bowie have donated to the Jena 6 Defense Fund. Jesse Jackson has created even more buzz about Jena by going after Senator Obama, accusing him of not talking enough about the Jena 6.

More to come later about the protest and the incredibly shady actions of the Distric Attorney.

Also, Democracy Now! continues to do great reporting on the story, going to Jena and speaking to family of the Jena 6, memebers of the 6 themselves, and local government officials.
