The City Without Us

I heard a podcast, I think it was NPR's Talk of the Nation (which is a great radio call in show you can download from iTunes for free), featuring Alan Weisman the author of The World Without Us. The web site for the book which can be reached via the link above has some interesting illustrations of NYC at various stages after humans have disappeared. I find it interesting how fast the subway system would flood without human interference and, well, you can probably imagine what happens when the subway systems starts to cave in. Anyway, check it out. It makes you think about how we're just temporary...man.

By the way I haven't read the book yet. I'm just pimping the idea.
