Update on 475 Kent Eviction in Williamsburg

The doors of the large "residential" building at 475 Kent Ave in South Williamsburg are still locked. According to Gowanuslounge, there was a rally and press even at the building yesterday. A website for tenants has been created, check it out here. The grain from the illegal matzoh factory, which is the major reason the building was evicted despite various other violations, has been cleared out. Some residents say the building could be certified for residential occupancy soon. Hopefully that's the case.

There are also a number of local politicians backing the residents of 475 Kent. That bodes well for a positive resolution.
