The Press Secretary tries to pretend to be serious. It's too bad they don't see this as a serious issue.

Obama Gets Smug
Obama's response to a question about legalizing marijuana in an attempt to help out the economy was kind of sad. He could have gave the same answer with out being so smug and dismissive. I understand he has to respond this way politically but his flip response providing no real rationalization is unfortunate.

Republicans Want To Tea Bag Somebody
Check out this great article from HuffPo writer Bob Cesca. He points out the idiocy of those who thing they are emulating the Boston Tea Party, equating themselves with American Colonists revolting against being taxed by the UK without having any representation in Parliament.
Again, does that sound like what those who oppose Obama's stimulus plan face? There will be tax cuts for most, in fact and any lack of Republic representation in Congress is pretty much their own fault.
Cesca goes into a lot more detail about the absurdity of the comparison to the Boston Tea Party. So remember, they want to tea bag you...
...lastly, check out this video from the Daily Show.
Thanks to the shadowy figure katchyna for bringin this to my attention.

Obama-Fingers
Maybe this will work.Slap the name of a popular President in place of a bird to create an even more confounding name for a food product that is neither finger, nor Chicken (well, processed most likely), nor Obama.
Behold the Obama Fingers! And...w/ Curry dip? Gross.

Obama v. American Idol
More people watched the recent Obama press conference than the past episode of American Idol. Congratulations America on not being seeming as shallow as we all know you (we) are. Although the press conference was on like a zillion channels.

The George Bush Countdown: 10 Days
What ten issues will we most remember about George Bush? With ten days to go until he's out, and Obama is in, here is one thing I'll surely remember: The role of religion and science. Here are some of the Religion/Science greatest hits.
- Grand Canyon National Park officials not allowed to reveal actual age of the canyon due to pressure from Bush appointees.
- Bush places federal funding restrictions on stem cell research.
- Bush proclaims his favorite philosopher is Jesus Christ.
- Bush says he talks to God about foreign relations.
- Oh, and he didn't do too much about Global Warming either...

More Marijuana Questions
The Obama transition team's "Open for Questions" portion of its website has again been inundated with questions about the failed state of the war on drugs. In the first round of answers the transition team responded to questions about marijuana decriminalization with a simple "no" to the idea.
D'Alliance says the answer hasn't stopped the questions and hypothesizes that if similar questions keep coming there could be some national exposure to the issue.

Legalize?
The Obama administration released a list of answers to what it claims are some of the top questions submitted on its website. Here is one particular Q and A:
Q: "Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?" S. Man, Denton
A: President-elect Obama is not in favor of the legalization of marijuana
Boo...

High Comedy
Here's a rib tickler.
It came out from a member of Obama's staff today that he surprised soon to be birthday-boy/VP-elect Joe Biden with 12 cupcakes, each stuck with one candle. Then...
Obama joked, "You're 12 years old!"Biden laughed, replying: "Maybe in dog years!"
Hilarious. Nice reporting by MSNBC too.

Obama and Spam...Real Spam
Spam sales are up presumably due to the economic conditions. The economic conditions are the result of...Barack Obama. That's right, the Obama recession.

Hate 2008
The Secret Service, in mid-October, warned the Obama family that death threats had increased as an apparent result of the increased character attacks on Barack Obama by VP nominee Sarah Palin. Looks like Palin's words were taken to heart by some of our dear fellow citizens/bigots prone to violence.
According to the report Michelle Obama asked, "Why would they try to make people hate us?" Good question. Somebody ask Ms. (not so) smarty-pants-Alaska please.

Middle America for Obama
As the only plasticblog contributor (I believe) blogging from a swing state, I would like to offer up my own endorsement of Senator Obama for POTUS. Oh, who am I kidding... I just wanted an excuse to post this funny picture of Obama in a cowboy hat.
